For Fun on your ownAsk your river guide to tell you more about these hidden gems...
Check out the local hot springs. One option is Chico Hot Springs located 30 miles north of Gardiner off Highway 89. It is a developed pool/hotel/bar and restaurant. Great soaking everyday and entertainment on weekends.
If your not into the developed thing there is also the Boiling River. This natural hot spring is a few miles inside the north entrance of Yellowstone, where the Boiling River spills into the Gardner River and you can find a hotspot or two to soak in. This is a natural pool and is often closed early in the season during runoff.
The ole OTO ranch. One of Montana's first dude ranches is nestled into the hills 10 miles north of Gardiner. It is a beautiful and easy 2 mile hike to this historic ranch that is open for the public to explore. There are old cabins and a large main house, reminiscent of a ghost town, waiting to fill your imagination about days gone by.
